Arch 468: Evolution

Arch 468: Evolution gives theatre and performance artists an opportunity to show their work-in-progress and get specific feedback from the audience before being given resources to further develop the work in light of that feedback. We give every participant a 15 minute slot to show their work, followed by development time at Arch 468 in the following month.

Arch 468: Evolution aims to:

1.– work with as many different kinds of performing and theatre artists as possible.

2.– offer the chance to develop new and unconventional work.

3.– integrate the sense of an audience in the artist’s process and promote a sense of reciprocity between audience and artist.

4.– promote a sense of shared ownership of theatre and performance art.

5.- promote Arch 468 as a safe space for all kinds of theatre and performance artists, regardless of the kind of work they make.

Once a month, Arch 468 will show a selection of excerpts of work currently being developed by emerging theatre makers. We have no rules about the kind of work we show – only that it must still be in the developmental stages of its genesis. All we ask is that you have specific questions about the work that you want help from an audience in answering and that your piece is no more than fifteen minutes long.

Because Arch 468 is all about showing work not showing off, you should expect that the performance will have little or no technical support. We’re excited by the substance of the work, not how pretty it looks.
