Arch 468: Inspire
Making theatre without a safety net
Tuesday 3 August 2010
Sensory disability
Led by performer Amelia Cavallo and director Julie Osman
Look at your situation and ask questions – we’ll be exploring ways of making work by investigating people’s expectations of performers with sensory disabilities, especially visual impairment; we’ll be drawing on Amelia’s experience as a performer and musician who is visually impaired.
If you’re interested in different ways of experiencing the world, this workshop is for you.
Participants will bring questions and a short extract of any text relating to one of the five senses. As an ensemble, we’ll begin transforming this raw material using movement and text exercises.
For all professional theatre-makers, disabled and non-disabled, who are open to experimenting; if you have access requirements, please check with us to find out if we are able to accommodate them. All participants will need to function as performers during the workshop.
How to apply
Please email us your CV and a question relating to sensory disability which you’d like to bring to this workshop to inspire@arch468.com
