468 Squared is your chance to explore all things site responsive. Using Arch 468 as our foundation, we will work together to address the challenges of generating performance and design from alternative space. 

Arch 468 will be deconstructed to discover and explore the possibilities of the space through workshops led by experienced site responsive practitioners. These weekly sessions are open to practitioners of any form, and will give participants a practical and comprehensive understanding of what goes into making site responsive work.  The workshops will culminate in participants from each discipline collaborating to create an exciting open performance.   This is your opportunity to explore the concept of site responsive performance through developing your skills and working collaboratively with others to produce your own site responsive piece.   You are welcome to apply for as many or as few of the sessions as you wish, but please make sure that you are available for the final weekend.

468 Squared Aims to:

-Enable participants to gain insight into working for unconventional performance spaces.

-Allow you to work ‘on your feet’, practically exploring a fast paced and collaborative process.

-Try out ideas in an open and safe environment.

-Work with the space to utilise it as a creative stimulus.

-Develop your skills and add new ones

-Hand the space to you, to collaboratively explore ideas to develop an open performance.

Design Workshop Participants get to:

-Work with an experienced Design practitioner

-Create a design in response to a chosen area of the space in a practical way

-Understand the demands and freedoms of working in a site responsive environment.

-Platform their design in an open performance. 

Directing Workshop Participants get to:

-Work with an experienced site responsive director.

-Understand techniques used to generate performance material and the compositional strategies used to montage this material.

-Gain the tools necessary to work with performers and designers with a shared language of the space.

-Appreciate the space as a stimulus to generate performance.

-Develop their ideas with a creative team over the course of a weekend.

Performance Workshop Participants get to:

-Understand and utilise the tools needed to perform in unconventional performance spaces.

-Embrace new practices focused on their relationship with the space.

-Experience the pace and demands of site responsive theatre.

-Develop relationships with directors and designers.

-Work with an experienced site responsive director.

Platform their skills in an open performance.

6th (Directing workshop), 18th (design workshop), 20th (Performance workshop) October 6pm - 10pm  30th and 31st (Open performance sessions) October 10am - 6pm
